Do you know any top college that does not allow a gap year after admission?

Here are some examples of schools where, I think, you can’t defer admission after acceptance.
USC (U Southern California)
Hampden-Sydney
Ohio State
Rutgers
Julliard and, I think, most conservatories

Most schools will let you defer admission for a year after acceptance.

I know a kid who took a gap year even though Oberlin refused to allow him that extra year. He had to reapply to colleges, but is happy he took the break.

I think the UC’s do not let you defer a year.

I was just reading a post today on the Financial Aid board about a student who deferred for a year and the financial aid grant that he was offered for this year is half the amount he was offered last year. I don’t know if this is applicable to you, but if your son is given financial aid or merit aid, be sure to ask if he will get the same package next year or not.
