Do you know if Northwestern puts a lot of weight on ACT scores?

Hello!

So, I am applying to NU ED, and my biggest worry is that my ACT score will tank my chances of getting in. Honestly, I really have no idea why I've been getting such low scores on the ACT, because I prepare and prepare...and prepare. The rest of my application is, in my opinion, pretty solid, but it's really my ACT that is not so great.

ACT scores
March 2014- 23 (1st time-no study)
April 2014- 23 (3 weeks after 1st time)...Essay 10
September 2014- 24...Essay 8
October 2014- Don't know yet, but this test was the worst ACT by far...Essay- I felt I did well on the essay

My interview with an NU alumni went super well, and she kept saying that I shouldn't be discouraged about my scores because NU seems like the perfect school for me...but then again, she never asked what my score was..so her answer could've been different. Anyways, I'm still applying ED, hoping I have a chance.

But I'd still like to what you guys think.

I’m hoping the rest of my application, like my essays, will compensate for my low ACT score…and my GPA, which isn’t the best either

Look at the common data set. Their 25th percentile is 31. Your chances are thus not very high, but you should still apply if NU is your top choice. 1% of the class has a score of below 24 :/.
