Do you like your roommate?

<p>I'll answer this both for my roommate from my first year and for my current roommate that I've been rooming with for the past three years. </p>

<p>1st year roommate:</p>

<ul>
<li><p>On a scale of 1-10, what is your relationship with your roommate(s)? (1 being you spend less time in your room just to avoid him or her and 10 being that you are best friends) During that year, I would say 8. </p></li>
<li><p>How many roommates do you have? one.</p></li>
<li><p>Did you choose your roommate(s) or leave it to chance? chance.</p></li>
<li><p>Is having a roommate better or worse than you thought it would be? it was better than i thought it would be primarily because i knew that if i had a bad day, my roommate would be there to listen (if only partially interested) to me rant. some nights, it was like it was a slumber party and we'd stay up late into the night telling stories, gossiping, talking about hopes/dreams, etc. i think i pretty much just ended up with a really good roommate. </p></li>

<p>i hate having a roommate. i CANNOT wait for a single next year.
right now we have the blinds closed and im doing homework by a crappy desk lamp when there's bright sunshine and natural light.
she's "getting blasted by the sunlight" F you, its not my fault you moved your desk to the widow
ugh. ill just be so happy next year when it's my room and i won't have to share my minifrige or study by desk lamp, since my roommate goes to sleep at 8:30.</p>

<p>I think a roomate who sleeps very early (8:30PM) is probably better than one who sleeps late ( past 3PM).</p>

<p>I think it's really annoying when people open and close drawers late at night.</p>

<p>And I hate it when people leave the ventilator on and pee in the middle of the night with the door open!</p>

my roommate is 24 years old transfer from cc (im 19)
he doesnt study at all, has done all the drugs that exist,
smokes weed in the room.
oh yeah and hes super ugly too.
he also watches black and white movies all day.
he thinks the roomlight is too bright for him, so i live in darkness
he has no friends so he goes back home every week.
at least thats good</p>

his classes are tues and thurs only,
so he goes home thurs night and comes back mon night.

lol, that sounds like my roommate last year. except replace the weed with booze/redbull; black and white movies with playing WoW; and not liking light with not liking clothes (he was in his underwear as soon as he entered the door...and he told me he goes 'au natural' at home...and he lives with his parents...).</p>

<p>he was a complete slob too. basically, you couldnt see the carpet on his side of the room. it was all covered with clothes/papers/empty food containers/bags/etc.</p>

<p>List of grievances against my past roommate (Thank God I moved out)
1. Doesn't flush the toilet. Only closes the door for #2
2. After shaving, doesn't clean his hairs from the sink. (ew)
3. Room smells like a combo of weed and smelly boxers + socks.
4. Can't see the carpet on his side of the room.
5. Comes back at 3 AM and starts banging around the room.
6. Room has spiders, fruitflies and silverfish
7. Gave me bronchitis and coughed for 2 months straight.
8. He stinks</p>

<p>heh... i was the one always up til 3, but the loudest thing i ever did was type.</p>

<p>what i didn't like was when my roomies woke up insanely early and use a hairdryer without closing the door!</p>
