I'm just wondering to see if in general, more people end up liking their roomates, or if you become best friends, or if you end up hating each other's guts, or just being indifferent towards each other.

Yeah I like my roommate
Well, we chose each other that's why haha
He's my best friend from high school and we lived with each other over the summer session and it turned out fine.
Still as close as ever.

My roommates are great (there's 4 of us in an apartment) We were all assigned randomly, but we all seem to have a good respect for each other and each other's space so things are working out well.

Don't have one now...yes!

But, I liked all of my roommates from sophomore-senior year.
Despised my freshmen roommates because we were in a forced triple.

Yeah I like my roomate. She is really nice and she is really chill. I will probably keep in touch with her after we are no longer roomates.

I live in an off-campus, three bedroom apartment, which has only one other roommate. So far, there have been two minor issues. First was a temperature dispute, but we came to a very reasonable compromise last night that suites both of our needs. The other, which has yet to be addressed, is the third bedroom. He has a bunch of stuff in there, which is fine by me, because I have the larger room. But I do want it to be clear that the bed needs to be kept clear, and space generally left, as I have several people planning to come visit that will need a place to crash. And there's no point in making them rent an expensive hotel room when there is an unoccupied room in my place. But I imagine that when I sit down and talk to him about it later, it should be a fairly painless issue.

So yeah, I guess I like my roommate. He's a reasonable guy who gives me my own space, and doesn't use my **** without asking (as far as I know). But I also don't know him all that well, having talked maybe two hours in total in the two weeks since he's moved in. That however, is plenty fine by me.

i'm in a single yay!!!

I live in a single. My roommate is a jerk. :(

I hate my roommate. Didn't bring crap to my room, i had to buy the tv, rug, fridge, all that. Never leaves the room and sleeps all the time. oh and he doesn't wear deodorant. So once winter comes around.... God help me.

Lol, TU. I like my roommate all right. Wish she was on the meal plan because her food smells sort of strongly sometimes, but we leave the window open and it works pretty well.

We have a private bathroom and my suite-mate makes the narliest deuces ever. :(

haha if u have a single how can u hate your roomate? (TUOwls)

This site fails in the humor department...

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lol idiot moment...

My roommate's pretty cool. I don't see us becoming close friends, due to differences in personality/interests/etc., but we get along well and haven't had any real issues yet.

I like my roommate. I would say we're already decent friends, and we've gotten along great so far. We had a small tiff last night, but I think we've resolved that pretty well.

I hope the rest of the year goes as smoothly, and as of right now, I don't have any reason to think it wouldn't.

I love my roommate. We were randomly assigned and I'm so surprised at how well we get along. We're like best friends lol.

I really like my roommate. we were randomly assigned freshman year, and living together again this year.

do roomates end up giving each other advice, confiding in each other etc? or is it just coexisting and getting out of each other's way?

^it seems like my roommate and I are the odds ones when it comes to this because we get along great and tell each other everything and are like best friends. There are some that are like us and there are some that can barely even coexist. It depends on you and your roommate. My advice is to not go to college expecting either of those options.
