Are you searching by the ISBNwhatever number? Can’t go wrong there.

Some of my books have diff dates (not by a lot though) than the textbooks listed but have the same ISBN number.

Could I get away with getting the 5th edition of a calculus book? Someone is going to give it to me. Should I be safe and buy (for $100) the 6th edition?

Another question about the textbook for Calc 408C - do you have to buy UT’s custom edition, or is the normal 6th edition fine? What’s the difference?

The problem sets may have changed so I would advise getting the exact edition specified, particularly for math and science classes.

The Coop will usually sell used copies of most books unless the edition is literally brand new.

But what about finding books for cheaper? I found the books on the Co-op website but I dont really wanna pay $500 where can I find them for cheaper?

You can find books at:
Amazon.
Half.com.
Previous student.
Half Priced Books for novels.

“Another question about the textbook for Calc 408C - do you have to buy UT’s custom edition, or is the normal 6th edition fine? What’s the difference?”

My Cal teacher for 408C made up her own homework so we didn’t even use the problem sets in the book. Actually I think she told us to just get a regular one if I remember correctly. Just ask the teacher or wait until class starts. They usually tell you on the first day.

to anyone who had Allcock for M408D, does he use the textbook?

How do I find out what books each class requires?

Go to Coop! [The University Co-op - Shop for University of Texas Longhorns Football, Basketball, Baseball Jerseys, T-shirts, Apparel & Merchandise](http://www.coop-bookstore.com/)
Then textbooks(bottom left) > students> place textbook order. Then look for the class from the menu. It will list all the required and recommended books.

Yes! I just figured it out

Thanks a bunch

“to anyone who had Allcock for M408D, does he use the textbook?”

bumping my question :)

I hope UT, I bought the international edition(fundamentals of electric circuits 4th 2009) and from what people said online it is the same(not 100% sure if it is going to be the same though). And it was like $25 + shipping(at coop it is $140 used)! If you need to save money, I think it is a good deal. It just depends on if you want to risk or not!

sorry henryj223. haha. :D

I cannot find the page that states which books are required for your classes.

another way is to go to the ut registrar, click on the unique number, and on the bottom should say “Check textbooks for this course”. click on it, and it’ll tell you.
