because i have been searching online for a couple of days and i cannot find anything that says you need to pay double tuition for a double major...but somehow that does not feel right...can someone help me?
please and thank you :)

Nope, you pay tuition and then you can register for as many classes as you want. There are a few hoops to jump through, usually, in registering, but besides book fees, since you'll obviously need more books, I don't think you usually pay extra.

Only if you take an extra year or take more courses than the average credits allowed at your school.

I am not aware of any schools where you pay the tuition and then register for as many classes as you want.

The cost of tution quoted by most schools is for an average class-load, typically 15 hrs at a semester school. The actual tuition is based upon per credit hour costs.

If a school charges $150 per credit hour, then 15 hours would cost 15 x $150 = $2250 for that semesters tuition. However if you take 20 hours -- 20 x $150 = $3000 for that semesters tuition.

A double major will normally require more hours than a single major. The requirements should be listed in the school's catalog.

Most ranked schools (in terms of difficulty) charge a flat tution fee rate. Smaller schools and community colleges tend to charge by credit.

You need to look at the policies at each school. Many charge for extra credits. The $150/credit example above is a dream. $500+/credit is probably more likely and many programs will require 5 years.
