Do you people even study?

^In AP classes? Never heard of someone getting 100 on a test in an AP class.

^ Hah, yea, that’s unheard of. Highest grades I’ve ever heard of are 95-96ish.

I used to study more, but I’ve caught a serious case of senioritis lately. I’ve never been a huge study person. I read the chapter a night or two before and call it good. I’m pretty good at taking tests as long as I have skimmed the chapter. I don’t really listen closely in class though, teachers either go too slow or try to explain things too elaborately. My math teacher will spend an hour showing us the most complicated way possible to do a problem, so I decided months ago to stop listening to him and use that time to read the book and figure out the shorter and more practical way.

The only class I ever have to seriously study for is Spanish. 80 percent of grade being tests kills…

TheKongo: same here. That’s why I love my math class. But I recently got one or two problems wrong on two tests and now my 99% turns into a 93%. But not doing hw doesn’t affect me much :D

I don’t touch my bookbag once I get home and lay it down. I do lay and think about what I learned in school which helps me with memorizing the material, but I don’t do my homework until the day it’s due…the block before.

I’m lazy. I like that about myself.

alwaysleah, so far I was taking AP BC Calc, Bio, Chem, Economics, US History and European. Only two classes I rarely got 100s are Histories. I usually make 1-2 stupid mistakes. In sciences and math, it is pretty easy to get 100 because it is not too much to memorize. Basically, u r applying the same concept over and over lol really hard to make a mistake if u know everything well. However, it is harder with histories coz questions may be really specific.

I just study the morning of the test/quiz and my grades are mostly in mid-90s

Then again, I’m a freshman.

I study mainly for US History and Physics. Everything else, if I study, it’s just the day before. Physics I actually really enjoy, so “studying” for me isn’t really work (side-note: I also enjoy calculus, but I have like over a 100 in that class barely studying, so there’s not much of a point to). With history, on the other hand, I just have a teacher that grades impossibly. I lost half of the points on a question because I said that the main goal of the Peace Corps was to “help impoverished areas”, when he was looking for “countries” instead. So I have to legitimately study for that class to maintain an A.

Just Chem and Calc.

USH only if there’s a quiz.

I rarely study for Physics or Comp Sci

Only thing I ever study for is Vocab tests, and by study I mean glance over the definitions for 5-10 minutes. I’m sure I’ll study for the SAT when I’m in my Junior year, but so far all’s good (Ranked #1 in class; 1760 freshman Sat score)

@marval so let’s take AP Bio. If you’re going to get through 55 chapters before AP testing, then you have a test on 1-2 chapters weekly. So you’re saying that you can just read the chapter twice and know everything? That is some crazy ****. You must have a photographic memory/be a genius. Or else the tests are really easy.

alwaysleah, yeah AP Bio was different, for me, it is not a “real” science. I just was reading each chapter really slowly and repeating every sentence in my head. You can read a chapter in 30 minutes without any analysis of it, but it is not my case. One chapter for me required like 3-4 hours of reading. I did it again before each test and I was perfectly fine. I got 5 on AP exam with no problem. However, I got 100s mostly in classes like Econ, Math or Chem but sometimes I did that in others too. About the difficulty of tests: I don’t know but usually questions are taken from released AP exams or the teacher just makes his questions based on previous AP exams. He can’t make the test superhard just for me because there are a lot of kids in a class.
PS and also I don’t consider myself a genius lmao and didn’t want to sound arrogant. I just described how I studied. Everyone has different techniques… But yeah in my case, I prefer self-studying

Can’t believe you people don’t study at all. I always have to study for tests. I usually study tests the day before for about 30 minutes. Mostly to refresh my memory and look at topics I don’t fully comprehend.
