Do You Plan To Particpate In College???

when you write your activities on the common app they ask this... if we check yes, are we committed or implying that most probably we will?

I have a ton of piano accomplishments, awards and stuff and have been playing it for 13 years continuously, not on and off. However, I probably don't want to pursue it in college, (unless theirs some small club or something that gets together. I really mean not join orchestra or band or something directly relating to the college) but feel that if I check YES to their question that I'll be validating my commitment to it, and if I check NO it won't seem as big an E.C.

If I check yes, i don't want to get a call from say the orchestra head of the college or someone asking me if I'm interested in joining at their college. Also, will my admission be based on an unofficial agreement that I'll join some band or orchestra???????

Good grief, you're committing the #1 college app sin of overanalyzing. Be honest- either you plan to participate or you don't. I think that's just so the organizations can contact you if you're admitted. I only planned to continue one or two of my ecs in college because I wanted to join new activities.

thhhhhhhhhhanks ne1 else

Actually, I do plan on continuing all of my ECs in college..to a lesser extent that was one of the minor factors in whittling down my list of schools to apply to, whether the school was in a commyunity which could support my ECs or if the school had a variety of organizations that would do so (Dance, Acting, and Community Service)..
