Do you regret not applying anywhere else?

Now that pretty much all the stats are out in regards to the incoming class of 2010 at most universities, do you kinda wish you had applied somewhere else? Somewhere a bit "higher?"

I didn't really plan on this whole college thing (discovered this website in March, heh), so I personally regret not shooting for the stars, so to speak. Didn't know if anyone else felt that way.

Nopes.

I did what you didn't do, which was "shoot for the stars," and well...got shot down by all the stars. In my opinion most of the people who didn't apply to schools that were out of their reach, wouldn't have gotten in.

^agreed. Except I didn't apply to any big reach schools except for Berkeley and of course, I was shot down like a sitting duck...

I shot for my star in the early round and the star came into my reach ^^. ... should i have waited until regular to try something "harder" ? no. I was dead set on my school of choice before the process began and no other acceptance can make me any happier =p (yes that includes all the higher stars!)

my philosophy for life is kinda never have regrets for whats in the past =p

No, I just should have applied ED. I still got accepted to my school of choice RD, but I wouldn't have wasted all that time with the rest of the colleges :p

my list was balanced and i'm happy because i got into almost all. :)

same.. I got into/wl at the majority (Stanford rejection i knew was coming)...

I dont regret anything as its logical... my regretting will NOT change anything. So why waste time on something with no bearing? :)

I regret not applying to more match schools that I liked.
I should have applied ot more schools in general (I did 6).

I feel like I was unfortunate that my top choice, EA school was really popular this year, but I don't regret applying there.

not really. I applied to 4 schools and stopped my applications halfway for the two civilian schools when I got into my top choice.

No, finding out I got into RICE (!!!) BEFORE Christmas has made this semester so much less stressful. I can't change my mind now, so no regrets. :)

i regret not applying to BC

i regret not applying to CMU & UND

I have a bunch of regrets. I didnt realize the phrase 'love your safety' until two weeks ago.

I applied to 8 schools, got 6 acceptances, 1 waitlist, and 1 rejection.

Of those 8 schools, I only actually wanted to go to 3 of them. You guessed it - two of those three were the waitlist and the rejection.

I wish I'd looked at Providence College or some smaller LACs

i wish i applied to a few other schools...just b/c i didnt do enough research b4 i applied. but i def. applied to schools that i liked and i "reached for the stars" also.

I wish I'd applied to some LACs. I love big universities, but they would've been something different to look at during the process. If you want specifics, Amherst, Kenyon, Haverford, and Pomona to start. Other places that didn't quite make the application cut that now I realize I should've applied to - William and Mary, Wake Forest, Susquehanna, and Berkeley.

I'm in where I want to be though. :)

^^^^yes, onsilverwings i am just realizing that the ideal LAC fits my personality way better than a research university----oh, well way to late

just Princeton.

I regret not applying to Bucknell. I really didnt have the application money though and it was too late to geta voucher. I applied to two reach schools MIT(wanted to go at first but not eatin up inside about not getting in) & Harvard (everybody kept telling to apply...so I did :P) my other schools were acceptances and I am very happy to be attending Penn State.

oh, and Amherst

I don't have that many regrets. The only ones I can think of are: not applying to Middlebury, Cornell, Duke and I should have applied to Dartmouth RD, not ED.
