How do you have a bunch of B's and yet the maximum GPA?

Also, what major?

weighted GPA... i've been taking advanced/AP courses

and intended major- biomedical engineering

Oh, so it isn't really out of 4. OK.

CMU isn't all that great for biomed. Look elsewhere.

I can see you at CMU, but since you are already from Pittsburgh I can't help thinking it might be a good idea to spread your wings a little and look further afield. Engineering + woman + URM gives you a huge edge in the admissions game. My nephew is very happy doing bioengineering at Rice by the way, he chose it over CMU, Hopkins and Cornell.

You honestly want to stay in pittsburgh? well at any rate you could probably go to CMU but I'd take a look at biomed rankings and go for some of the top schools in that field. As it was mentioned a female going into engineering helps your chances just about anywhere, being a URM doesn't hurt any either. You probably won't be saving any money picking CMU over a higher ranked school so definitely keep your options open.
