I wasn't sure whether to put this in the SAT section or High School Life, so I'll put it in both.

With the SAT coming up on Saturday, I was wondering what you suggest as far as sending your scores to your high school. I was told that I should un-check the box on collegeboard, so that my high school doesn't get my scores and thus they don't go on my transcript if they are low. Therefore, I can pick which scores I want to send (I know, it costs extra) to colleges when I apply next year instead of all of them being on my transcript.

Why does your school put scores on your transcript? That’s illegal since it invades your privacy. Talk to your guidance counselor about this issue ASAP.

How does it invade privacy? Putting scores on transcripts is a relatively common practice among schools. If the school already has the scores it’s not like there was privacy to begin with.

I think the logic is that when you released the scores to your school, you released it to the school, and therefore it is recorded by the school as a part of your academic record.
