Do you think apply early action for next year will boost chances significantly.

Especially for African Americans and Hispanics. With people who's first choice is Harvard and Princeton out of the running for Yale SCEA will it be easier then the regular decision around? I confused what will be the new pros and cons of single choice early action.

I sure hope so! Hah, good luck for us both!

No. Yale will adjust accordingly. If you are a likely admit for RD, applying SCEA won’t increase your chances.

The pro? You learn early. The con? You can’t apply to other EA programs.

It will be interesting to see if Yale takes fewer students SCEA next year. If they take the same number, I guess I would say that the reintroduction of early admissions at Harvard and Princeton made it easier to get into Yale SCEA than in previous years–but that still doesn’t mean that it’s easier than RD.

^ and ^^. Exactly what I said in the last one of these threads.

You may learn earlier, but no-one who wouldn’t have got in this year will get in next.

It will probably be easier than SCEA was this year, but definitely not so easy that anyone should be confident, because how Yale will respond is probably still up in the air at this point.
