Do you think ED1 will hear on Dec.15th? Big envelope? Nervous?

My D is so excited to hear. I assume it will be in the mail, not online. Please post when you hear! Good luck everyone!

I asked someone who is a freshman at Bates, and they said that they received a letter in the mail on December 14th. It may be different depending on where you live, but I believe it should be around December 15th. I’m so excited!! And nervous. Good luck to everyone!

Only 11 more days! I’m so nervous. Good luck to everyone.

I read in another thread that it may be a little later than the 15th? Does anyone know when they are going to arrive? Also, are they going to email the notification, or post it online on the bates account?

Bates didn’t do email notification or online for RD so I would assume it’s the same for ED.

Good luck to all ED applicants!

I know they are closing the admissions office early for their Christmas Party on Wed, so presumably they will be finished by then. This school is my D’s first love, the stress is so high in this house. Even our mailman is on the lookout!

Ok Just spoke with a lovely lady in admissions. She said they are finalizing details right now.

Maine and New Hampshire are being mailed regular mail. Everyone else gets priority mail. She said all will have received their decisions in the mail by the 15th, which leads me to believe they will go out tomorrow. She says nothing will be on-line.

Also she “thinks” ED numbers are down a bit this year (yeah for us!)

anyway, best of luck to all!

I have applied for Early Decision to Trinity College, Connecticut.
I was going to apply to Bates but the admission officer told me that they defer most of the ED applicants to the regular decision pool. This is particularly true for international students but also holds some value for US nationals.
Parents, please keep this information in mind.
Wish you and your kids the best.

Faryal, Are you an international students. The statistics for early decision to Bates does not hold up to what you are saying for U.S citizens. There exists an advantage to applying ED to Bates.

I am also awaiting my ED I status, so much waiting!

Yes, I am an international student and that is why I didn’t apply to Bates. Of course, US nationals have an advantage.
I wish you all the luck.

The waiting is crazy…Anyway apparently decisions were mailed today, please let us know when you hear, you New Englanders may hear tomorrow, probably thurs and friday for the rest of us! Best of luck!

Does anyone know what it means that our application info is no longer available on Gateway? Also, did everyone receive an email from admissions yesterday (from one of the students admissions people I think) with the subject line “Why Bates!” with an exclamation point?

My D still has access to the URL, and she said the “Why Bates” is a newsletter she subscribes to and receives periodically. I don’t think there is any clues to be read into this, sorry.

Hey guys I am ED I applicants to Bates college from Nepal. But I have yet not received the user id and PIN to track my application online. When I am gonna know the decision here in Nepal and will it be via email or express mail? Can anyone answer me?

The wait is a pain.

This wait is killing me!!!

hey amshik1… I too applied to Bates…And of course i too am from Nepal. It’s been 2 weeks since I received the user id… Perhaps you should look for the letter at the post office… Mine was sent to my school though! Good Luck!

I heard all international students are getting their admission decisions on 14th Dec. at 6:30M US Time.
US Nationals will get their decisions on 15th through post.

GOOD LUCK!

U sure Faryal? Cuz i had emailed the admissions admissions and the correspondent replied by saying that the decisions would be mailed.
