I want to do civil engineering and Korean literature. I plan on going to uc irvine too. I'm just not sure if it will be too hard.

I think that would be a very unique double major. Seems like it would be kind of hard, but really unique in that it would be the kind of thing some grad schools would like to see or something.

I think its possible. I plan on doing the same thing, Civil Engineering + French. I’m already fluent in French though… its just I want the degree so I could be a part-time translator or something like that in the future.

Engineering majors are very hard to double in I hear but I kinda want to do the same with double in MechE and Art. But I’ll probably just minor in art. You have to really love both the same but if you love one more then maybe major/minor.

Most people advocate against double majoring in two engineering disciplines. Having a second major outside of engineering typically isn’t a problem since most of your non-technical classes you have to take will be counted towards the second major. If you plan on double majoring at the beginning, I doubt you’ll even have to take more than 15 hours a term at most schools/

i’d say if that’s what you want to do, then go for it. sure it’ll be harder, i’m also a double major (English Lit and Theatre) but most people just go the one major route and stick with that. having two majors simply justifies the means that you want to do more than just one thing 24/7. spread your wings wide.
