<p>My mom knows almost nothing about college admissions or even high school, to be honest. She can’t get online without my help, either.</p>
<p>She has her strengths… it’s just not technology or academics. I’m okay with that, though. Judging by what some other parents think is “support”, I’m just one level happier with my mom.</p>

<p>Haha, my parents don’t have accounts. As far as college admissions, they knew the bare minimum necessary to be moderately useful during the application period, and that’s fine – I feel like I managed fine with little help. (:</p>
<p>They do know about this website, though. They know most of what I do on the internet (well, of the stuff that’s… erm… appropriate). Plus, I met my boyfriend on here, soooo I would have had to tell them about it eventually. Lolol.</p>
<p>edit: My parents don’t care about my grades, either, as far as “You have to get all 'A’s OR ELSE.” They’re like, “All we care about is that you try your best!” But since I maintained a 4.0 throughout all of HS, whenever I did get a low grade on something, they considered this indicative of my not having tried my best and gave me a hard time about it. “Maybe if you STUDIED and GOT SLEEP, then you wouldn’t get grades like this!”</p>

<p>My parents know that I go on a “college-related” forum that talks about SAT, college prep, and college admissions and from random Chinese forums they know what HYP etc etc mean. lol</p>
<p>I told them that they needed to know about college stuff too and that I shouldn’t be expected to know everything and I guess they listened. :D</p>
<p>I don’t think my parents know what CC is, so even if they’ve seen me on here it has no meaning to them.</p>

<p>My parents wouldn’t even consider it. They have very little opinion on my college choices, except that I should stay close to home (which I’m against) and choose something financially doable (which I’d do without such advice). They know I’m on here, but I haven’t told them my username.</p>
<p>No never. They think all the people on forums are deceitful and out to manipulate you in to failing. They don’t have a very high opinion of the internet in general.</p>

<p>I think giving my mom a CC account would give her a wake-up call to how the college process really works, but then she would go crazy on me. My parents don’t know about CC, but I will pass the site onto my two younger sisters.</p>

<p>My mom used to be a lurker on the admissions forum, but i don’t think she is anymore.
As long as I don’t have any D’s or F’s, my mom dosn’t really care about my grades. She half expected me to go to a JC first anyway, so as long as I tried my best she was happy.
When i came home the last day of school and she found out I had almost all A’s, she was ecstatic, happiest iv ever seen her about my grades. Made me feel good.

<p>this is hilarious. my mom knows nothing about college admission and nor does she care. if i get bad grades, she just says, “maybe next time”, or “fix it and come have dinner”. sometimes i wish that i had one of those overbaring asian parents who push me to excel rathrer a care-free life. </p>
<p>My dad on the other hand cracks the whip in a second! If im not doing as well as i could be (which is the majority of the time), he’ll start to scream at me in kreyol and get the wood palenge and hit me (not abusive).haha.</p>
