Yeah, a neurologist! always been interested since an internship at my local hospital!

Yepp, I want to become a Radiation Oncologist. But if that doesn’t work out I would like to get a PhD in Epidemiology/ Pathology.

^^That’s good! I remembered being told that Neurology is hard to get into. When I said I wanted to become a Psychiatrist, my parents laughed and and said good luck lol. Neurology is definitely interesting. :)

@nate42 Cool! I hopefully want to get my DVM and then go for a BMVS for a PhD in Pharmacology. It’s a lot of work, so let us both prepare for the best.

I think being a doctor would be cool. This is off topic but what is 10chars?

Embarrassing to say, I have no clue. I see it a lot though lol.

@fantasy: Nice! That sounds cool. The MCAT is going to be a killer though… Thats why I have a back up plan

@foodlover: It is to fulfill the 10 character minimum, if your post isn’t long enough.

YEEEEEE BOYYY future dermatologist here (I hope!!)

Nope. I did when I was younger, but no longer interested.

@nate42 Veterinary school applicants just have to take the GRE :)

@xKansan same lol

xKansan did you have that account then? or another one or none?

lol at dermatology, its so hard to get into. Although they get paid buckets of cash for liking lotions

I think that a lot of students our age aspire to be doctors because of pressure and because of its stability. You cannot believe how many people just tell me “I just wanna major in something medical”. A lot of people wanna do it but I guess when they get to college they realize how tough it is and the majority of people who said they would actually don’t continue to medical school (or anything “Medical” for that matter)

Not saying that we would though.

I aspire to be a cardiologist, but I recognize my goals can change from now until I graduate college. It’s funny, because so many idiots I know want to be doctors. This dumb slut in my AP Euro class thinks she’s going to be an anesthesiologist.

I’ve always been interested in psychology/psychiatry (Yes, I know the difference.) Its been my goal since 7th/8th grade to get into the field. Of course if medical doesn’t work out I can always go back & get my doctorate in psychology. Shrugs Either way I guess i’ll be a “Doctor” techanically.

Live for today, plan for tomorrow.

I feel like everyone these days wants to be in medicine or engineering. Although I can just about guarantee 70-80% will end up giving up on it at some point, or just not making it to graduate school. It’s kind of annoying when you’re in high school, to know that half the school wants to go into medicine/engineering, but they get weeded out quickly before graduate school.

I will get either an M.D. or a Ph.D in Physics.

I’d like to get a Ph.D in Computer Science perhaps.

I have been thinking about it a lot lately. The only thing that bugs me are all the pre-reqs. I mean they are easily obtainable if you don’t waste time and major in Biology or Chemistry. However I am not majoring in either and have a few Gen. Ed and all four semesters of foreign language to complete.

I’m sure most people are concerned about making a lot of money. I’ll be honest that is one thing that interest me about being a physician, but the downfall would come into spending the first few/several years in internship/residency working some days 24 hours and being paid half or WAAAY under half of what you will be making once you’re done.

I think I’ll pass on being a physician (for now at least). Maybe I could still work in the hospitals as a nurse, radiographer, or sonographer. Or even dietician. There are plenty things to be that can be towards helping people. They may not pay as well, but gosh darn it! Or I could just stick with my original plan and become a clinical neuropsychologist! lol
