I just got my GRE aw score a moment ago.
verbal 670, math 800, and essay 3.5
this is a little lower than what i expected, and I wanted to try some top Civil Engineering grad schools like Berkeley; I'm currently a senior at Cornell, GPA about 3.75, doing research work with professor.

What are those schools’ average verbal scores? I doubt many people here honestly know the exact graduate admissions stats of those schools. I personally have never quite figured out exactly how most engineering grad schools treat the writing section. I would think it is somewhere between V and Q as far as importance given the importance of writing in grad school.

Your other two scores are fantastic though.

I myself have a MSCE in structural. I did not attend Berkeley, nonetheless, I think a 3.5/6 is quite fine - average, I guess. Obviously, there will be other factors they will consider.
