Does a B in remedial course look awful on a transcript?

When I first started out in CC I needed to take a remedial math course to advance on --got a B. It had no credit hours attached to it but does show up on the transcript as a course taken, I know it officially (transcript-wise) doesn't count towards GPA but would an admissions officer looking at it count it? If it does count, my GPA goes from 3.88 ---->3.82....

Not really a big deal I guess but as a CC student, every little bit of GPA helps.

Now I'm going to obsess over this for the next couple of months lol

Don’t obsess about this. The B means that you learned the material well, and you moved on to the next class on schedule. That is all that matters.

As it is a non transferable class the school is unlikely to calculate it into your GPA. I also had to do a remedial math class at a CC (it was many year since I did math and you really *don’t *ever use algebra again unless you are in certain fields). My transfer transcript shows the class and a couple of other classes that don’t transfer (the CC required PE type classes) but no grades on them.

Don’t stress too much about it. If you did on well on your higher level math courses then you are fine.
