Does a Canadian stand a chance?

Hi i'm a Canadian student going to Grade 12 from toronto, and im interested in applying to princeton or cornell for engineering. What are the chances that i will be accepted, considering that:

my grade 11 marks were horrible (in -canada they don't mean anything really, just grade 12 matters)

my grade 9 and 10 marks were decent (mid to high 80 average if all the required courses are looked at instead of the unecessary courses)

i never had SAT prep

i predict an 87% average in grade 12 with all the required courses.

probably will only have just 2 extra curricular activities

Very, very little. Sorry. :(

Sorry, it’s really competitive here. You would need to have an excellent GPA (best in your school) and do very well on the SAT to be competitive at those schools.

My friend, you should first start with a community college, that’s a friendly advice

An ~87% average in Grade 12 really isn’t too bad in Canadian standards. You should probably try and apply to some Canadian universities for undergrad, like University of Toronto or McGill - then either transfer to an American university while doing your undergrad or for graduate studies.

As for going to an American university for your undergraduate degree, your chances aren’t very good at all.
