Does a dual major with Computer Science and Physics make sense?

Any ideas on the prospects of a double major between computer science and another compatible field ? Son is very interested in computer science, but is also interested in software engineering and physics. He will have 6.50 units of science, including Physics 1,2,3 and AP physics; Chemistry 1,2,3 and AP Chemistry, and Biology 1,2 and 3, but he loves science. He says he likes physics the best of all the sciences. Computers are his passion, and is interested he is interested in computer science and not too interested in computer engineering (except for maybe software engineering). He has taken AP computer science and other computer related courses in HS. I think if he had to chose 1, it would be computers at this point.I would hate for him to "throw away" a decent science background for a HS student.

Should he try to double major...I think it might be impossible...can't be good at everything...especially if it is not compatible
Does it make sense to minor in physics ? Does that really do anything for him from an employer or practicality perspective ?

Any ideas how to mesh this whole thing together and/or any colleges that do a good job at this or does it make sense to do it at all ? Thanks
