does a low EFC almost guarantee a big financial aid package?

well, my EFC is about 2,800. this qualifies me for a pell grant, but does it guarantee much more? any personal experiences?

That isn't really a LOW efc compared to what i've seen. I know many people with efc's at 500 or even 0.

true it isn't extremely low, but it is low in comparison with most of the middle class people i know who have upwards of 13k. still, any thoughts?

i guess what i'm also trying to imply is as to whether having an EFC of 2800 means that is actually what i'm going to have to pay every year. will it be more? will it be less?

it depends on the school. Keep in mind that very few schools meet 100% demonstrated need and even fewer meet 100% demonstrated need with large amounts of grant aid (those that do this are amongst the most competitive as far as admissions).

depends on your state too, NY gives money to residents going to NY schools (under 80k gross)
