Does an online business count as extra curricular?

I'm grade 11, intestered in Computer Science.
I'm in Canada, average is 80%, Computer Science mark is 97-98%.
I'm white, and won't be needing financial aid. I'll be taking some online courses this summer so I can concentrate on the last few credits I need in grade 12. I'll be applying to both Canada and US.

So, my main focus recently has been on my online business. I mean, I do exceptionally well and my friends and parents are really proud but I'm not sure if it's actually valued in universities? Should I consider selling it and playing sports instead? Any thoughts?

Use it, definitely… it helps you stand out from the rest of the applicants. It shows leadership, responsibility, innovation and commitment. They’ll be impressed.

How many people do you know with online businesses (or any businesses) compared to how many you know who play sports? Definitely include it. It isn’t like you “tried out” for a business and was accepted. You created something where there wasn’t anything before. Use it.

You took the initiative to start something and you are making money from it (shows impact). Definitely include it- it’s something you should absolutely be proud of.

Glad to hear that all the time I’ve spent on my business hasn’t gone to waste, university perspective.
