what about UNC with year ends grades of a C, a C+, B, B, B+, B+, A-?

C's in AB Calc and Ap Stat respectively?

Most schools admit student on a provisional basis, and the provisions should be clearly stated.

The student who was rescinded based on grades earned in 10th grade most likely failed to properly report grades on their original application, and the grades were not found until submission of a final transcript. A lot of campuses to admit student based purely on their self-reported information from their application.

Do colleges ask the student for clarification before rescinding him?

A student in our area was rescinded from UNC a couple of years ago, but he had an F, a D and Cs. It was in the news because the father sued to try to get him restated. I don't think it worked.

My friend's friend got rescinded from UCI, because they found out that she faked her transcript. Lol. Can't show much sympathy for that to begin with..

I dont get it. How come colleges didn't realize the transcript was fake earlier? :D

Will i get revoked for forgetting to put down 3 classes i took at the community college?
I took US Hist 1, US Hist 2, and Trig, all to get a head start in the upcoming school years. I got Bs in all of them (I didn't really try hard).
Is this a big deal guys? I got B's in all of those classes. I didn't record these on my high school transcript because i took them again at my high school. Then, when filling out my grades for the application, i looked on my HS transcript and forgot about those classes.

highly doubt it, inform your admissions rep about the mistake if you wish.

fakery, forgery, fraud, felonious activities, and intentional mis-reporting of app data aforehand seem pretty clear -and reasonable - for acceptance rescision.

But I am still unclear on:

how much grades can slide to warrant a rescission. Can understand Fs, and possibly Ds, but what about Cs, and how many?

*What are allowable factors to mitigate a rescission decision? Can strength of schedule, for example, be an allowable factor to mitigate the rescission decision?

details about the mechanics of a rescission

**is it wholly one way - can a college *unilaterally decide to un-accept?

**is there a reasonable amount of time that a college must issue a rescission decision? I have heard absurd scenarios in this thread where the student already started the next school yr and was pulled out !

***Is there any appeal process allowed?

***is there some kind of of third party body that oversees the whole process that a student can appeal to, such as the 'society of college admissions', or some such entity?

what if someone forgets to record a community college class in which they got B's in...will that affect anything?

My school made me worry about my entire application to UC schools (not getting accepted but making sure there was no conflicting data). It asks whether our schools did semesters or quarters...well mine did semesters except for 4 quarter classes freshman year (1st Q Col elective, 2nd Q Art, 3Q col elective, 4Q Art/Applied App.) I can't remember being more worried about lumping these courses as 1 sem of Art and 1 of col elec. despite being discrepancy in order i took them, I just really didn't want to screw anything up, little neurotic. That, and making sure all my honors classes were addressed as correct honors at UC's (looking through exceptions to HL classes, many didn't count). So glad apps are over and looking forward to UCLA!

Do you think I would get recinded from UMD, Bentley or Penn State if I get an F in 1 out of 4 marking periods?

When you guys say failing a class, do you mean for the year?

I got into UCI but am really worried that i might get rescinded. I got a D in AP Calc AB last semester but all my other classes (all AP's) were all A's and B's and my gpa was still 3.7. Do you think theres a chance i might get rescinded?

I have not-so-great grades right now. I better work my tail off, otherwise I am getting rescinded. ACK

This guy i know was accepted into UCSC and was planning on going and everything, but was rescinded for getting a D in English. He found out in the middle of july and now attends a community college.

Ever since I heard about him, I've been completely paranoid about my admission getting revoked. I asked this in another forum, but maybe people have more answers here:

Can you get rescinded by a UC for dropping a class (AP Calc AB) even if you tell them about it?

actually that's what happened to me. I had 2 D's in both ap calc and ap phy i contact the school and they asked me to write a letter of explanation. Luckily I was able to maintain my admission with a 3.0 gpa in my senior final semester.

It was mentioned earlier on this thread that someone had had their acceptance rescinded because she skipped class a lot during second semester. Does skipping class mean that you have a lot of cuts or do colleges not differentiate between excused absences and cuts? If not then about how many absences would constitute a rescission?

I've heard about people being rescinded but only know of one case personally. In Sept of my sophomore year we learned that our valedictorian's admission was rescinded by Brown over the summer. He hosted a party that got out of hand, cops were called, they found liquor/weed & lots of minors. Arrests were made. Strange thing is there were many other college bound seniors who were present and also arrested but didn't have admissions rescinded by their schools. Word was someone actually called Brown and reported him, but don't know if that's true or not.

Is one D something to worry about, if the rest of my grades are still in the A range? (McGill)
