Does any one actually know someone who was rescinded?

Please help me!!

I'm so afraid!

Bryn Mawr College is my dream school.

I'm taking four AP's, and all my grades stayed the same (I had all A's and B's with one C in AP Bio), except for that C in Bio, which I believe is now a D.

If they accepted me with a C in my AP class, will they rescind me for a drop like that? I'm an English major, I don't know if that makes any difference. I had no place in Biology, it seriously kicked my butt. No matter what I tried, I could barely keep up (obviously). What are my odds, will they kick me out? Literally everything in my transcript is the same, some classes probably even improved, and my extracurriculars are insane.

Somebody predict my situation here. I'm about to attend graduation rehearsal and my mom is freaking out, screaming, "DO WE EVEN HAVE ANYTHING TO CELEBRATE TODAY?!"

Leslie, no one here can "predict" your situation. You cannot hide it from Bryn Mawr, so why not just call them and ask? Then you can either celebrate wholeheartedly, or mourn and move on. It's not like they won't find out soon enough anyway. (And please let us know what happens!)

I think any D grades merit a call to the admissions office. Sometimes they simply ask for a letter of explanation, but sometimes they want students to take the class at a CC over the summer. Those of you with C's should probably just send your transcripts and let it go without comment.

what if you have 1 D in a really lax class but an A average

I thought there was a possibility that my admission would be rescinded.

My fall grades were:
AP Psych - B
H Japanese - A
AP Java - B
AP Lit - B
AP Bio - B
AP Calc - C

While my spring grades were the same except for:
AP Lit - C
AP Calc - D

But I emailed the admissions office and informed them of the changes and they just replied thanking me for my proactive effort.

So sometimes they surprise you. ^__^

This thread scares meā€¦

anyone know anything about the policy at johns hopkins?

Okay Iā€™m freaking out now. I tried to relax this semester, but then I just got behind, and there was just this whole downward spiralā€¦

1st semester to 2nd semester
ap calc: 87 to 78
ap eco: 97 to 90
ap french lit:90 to 82
ap comp sci:91 to 90
ap english:90 to 85
physics:84 to 77
honors debate:86 to 70(yikes)
tok:97 to 97

I think I better call the admissions office and start explainingā€¦

Question: When people say, for example, ā€œI got 4 Cā€™s and 2 Dā€™sā€ are they referring to final year grades or a letter grade for a semester?

I had some personal family issues throughout the spring semester, and on top of that I was out sick for an extended period of time [which is certainly not the norm as I rarely ever miss school due to an illness] so my grades second semester definitely dropped. =/

Grades that appear on your transcript, which for most schools is semester grades.

Last year a girl from my sonā€™s high school was rescinded for lying about her self-reported AP scores on her application. It came to light when she sent her AP report after senior year.

Wow. I happen to be in this horrible situation. I just found out my admission to UCI has been withdrawn, due to a bad case of senioritus giving me an F in my first semester of AP English (although I passed with a C second semester). Iā€™m considering an appeal but have very little hope that it will work because I donā€™t have any new information such as a medical excuse. Iā€™d really like to know that spending 2 years in a cc in NOT my only option and that there is another route I can take.
