Does any one actually know someone who was rescinded?

I think the D happens because of 2 levels of jump, like from regular pre-cal to AP Cal or reg English to AP English. Most students often did not know how hard it is until the semester is over.

My safety is UCD. But I heard their policy is that at least a 3.0 weighted is all right (I have a weighted 3.2). Is there any truth to that?

i think when they say "at least" it is unweighted???

Universities Work to Prevent H.S. Senioritis

Universities Work to Prevent H.S. Senioritis | The Cornell Daily Sun

it is dated 2006. As the admission process takes a turn to the 'holistic' admission review - more admission staff are hired - therefore, more admission staff mean more bodies available to review end of year grade reports.
As I tell my studnets 'slackers beware'.

Kid got into stanford early action. Rescinded because of plaigarizing wikipedia. Now attends duke.

^lmao. i guess duke takes stanford-rejects -_-

my friend was accepted into both uc berkeley and UCLA last year for engineering as a transfer, but because of some personal struggle he wasn't focused during the spring and got 4 C's, berkeley rescinded him outright, UCLA rescinded him at orientation ...... Poor fella, he's still in good spirit though hoping to get into davis this year.

Why would they rescind him at orientation? That is beyond cruel; had they been upfront about it, he could have still tried to go to another school to which he had been accepted.

I really don't know, but yes when he got down to UCLA it was already past the June 1st deadline for sending intend-to-register to other schools and he had secured an apartment and roommate already at that point. I give him a lot of kudos for handling this disaster extremely well. I'm sure it was very painful deep down, but he's maintained an upbeat spirit and a very positive outlook. I think it's downright stupid that he was rescinded; someone who can handle failure well is someone who has a lot of potential to do well in the future.

the only person that i know who was rescinded was because he was arrested, so that's pretty much a given, lol.

A teacher called up H to get a vald.'s acceptance rescinded after the teacher found out that the kid cheated on a test. Scenario Two: Kid gets into H and kid is busted with drugs on a trip. Same teacher calls up H and gets the kid rescinded.

I know of someone who was moved to the waitlist, and then admitted again, on academic probation.

A teacher had called and basically reported epic senioritis.

Dozens of students paid to have their grades changed at the community college district I transferred from. There was an organized ring of student employees at Diablo Valley College who, for several years, had access to the college's academic computer system and charged hundreds of dollars to have Fs turned into As. They made tens of thousands of dollars on the scam.

Those ex-student employees are now awaiting trial on felony computer crime charges, and two have already pled guilty and are serving jail and state prison sentences. One of the alleged ringleaders is facing up to 70 years in prison.

Many of the students who paid to have their transcripts forged had offers of transfer admission revoked, or were expelled from the schools they transferred to. Some of those students have also been criminally charged and are facing prison time.

^holy ****

FCY, wow.

My concern for this year is to get in to my #1 and not have my #1 contacted by teacher mentioned above. I'm not doing anything wrong but, ^teacher scares me.

dude does that teacher have a personal vendetta against her students and are out to get their apps rescinded? haha i know that none of the teachers at my shcool will do that. they don't want anything bad to happen to u, even if you're caught cheating i doubt they'll turn you in or anything. not that i'm going to go out and test my hypothesis 0.0

Teacher mentioned is quite proud of the fact that he got kids rescinded. Especially students from top colleges.

"dude does that teacher have a personal vendetta against her students and are out to get their apps rescinded? "

If a teacher informs a college that an accepted student was caught cheating, I don't view that teacher as doing something wrong. I view the teacher as holding the student accountable for cheating. That also may open up a spot for a student who isn't a cheater.

Yes, I do agree with your Northstarmom. But, this teacher is another force to be even ..dealt with. Getting a kid rescinded from their #1 shouldn't be part of your ego.

A student at my school got their acceptance from USC rescinded for taking calculus as a pass/fail class second semester. The teacher warned him and asked the student to check with USC first but he didn't listen and found out his acceptance was rescinded in June.
