But I wonder if any one has finals like my school.

Like okay this is how it goes...

We have finals ONCE a year at the END of the year which is cumulative for the WHOLE year and you get ONE WEEK to review EVERYTHING.....

And its not really one week...its 3 one hour class periods.....2 of which on the same day...for each class..

Well yea,
We have these finals at the end of the year, everyone goes to the gym (well its by subject) and takes their final.

Its really serious guys. Like SERIOUS. people stress out a lot. But its mostly only Freshman and Sophmores who have finals..because they have no schedule that is full of aps or non final having courses.

These finals are worth 20% of your final grade... like your whole year grade is averaged out between the two semesters and then the final is averaged in..and you have your score...

I'm nervous..like grades need to come out already..lol...

Yeah, but is my school the only school that does that...

We have E.O.C (End of Course) tests that are mandated for certain subjects. If it’s not the teacher almost always have a final that’s worth 25-50% of your final grade.

We have finals at the end of each semester; so in December before break and in June right before school ends. We are allowed to exempt two finals per semester. Our finals count for 20% of each semester grade.

My final in math was about everything we learned the whole year, but it could only help our grade it replaced our lowest rest score!! Science it just counted as a test, an generally the same for all my other classes except history where we had to do this stupid project I started the night before… But I got straight A’s!!

Finals at my school are usually about 20% of our grade, and at the end of each semester. Some teachers allow exemptions for the people with the highest grade/people with A+'s. For kids who take AP classes, they have finals before the AP test for “practice.” Then they party for the rest of the year.

Yea that’s what I had in regular public school. I never stressed about those. They were sooo easyy!

But this…no no no. these are Not easy at all…not in the least bit. Like they take finals sooo serious and even the colleges look at them. Like they are on our report cards=/…I find that obnoxious.

I like semester finals though…you don’t have to remember much…

And yea, you have about 4 finals…they are only for year long classes not seminars…soo yea. you have about 9 classes a year, only 5 are year long, and English it is not required for a final…=)…which I’m happy about…but history made that up with us having to write 2 essays in 2 hours…well less than 2 hours counting the other things on the test…

And there even more stressful when youu have international asians who do nothing but study…lol.

One of my asian friends said this" You Americans just amaze me. We have important finals tomorrow, but today your not worried about that…your playing videogames and worried about how long its going to take you to pack up your room"

You go to a boarding school, which is why you have a much harder system. For probably 99.5% of us, it’ll be a final a semester.

For me, the system is a final a semester per course unless it is an AP course and you are taking the exam in May. Then you are exempt from the second semester final. Also, if you are a senior and you have an A in the class, then no final for you for that class.

It’s a British thing.
We have 7 finals over 4 days (2 for 3 days +1). And SOLs (Standards of Learning, it’s VA standardized testing) in May/June. And AP Testing. It sucks, if only because it takes so much time.
