does anybody plan to do another year?

well I am...

who else?

I. No choice. Math prereqs.

I am!

I wanna become a development economist so it would be ideal for me to take a social science along with a hard science.

So: 1. Applied Math (Econ) and 2. Sociology or Peace and Conflict Studies or Economics

I thought about is (If I didn’t get into a UC) but I am SOO over junior college, I’ll just apply somewhere else

Depends. If I don’t get into UCSD, there’s a slight chance I just wait and TAG next year. But chances are I’ll just go to UCI if that’s the case.

I would sooner give up on my education and work as an office asst for the rest of my life than spend another year at cc. Five years has been long enough for me. :)

Pssh, my first semester of CC was spring of 2003.

7 years baby! (started my sophomore year of HS)

Now THAT is commitment.

haha I was running around like a headless chicken for most of it. I have almost 130 units I think.

Wow that is insane. It took me five years of taking 1-2 classes at a time to finally get enough units to transfer. Did you just not know what you wanted to do?

^ o.o quarter units right?

No, those were semester units. I had no idea what I wanted to do. Mom threw me in college at 16 because I was making a mockery of high school, but I was way too immature to handle it. Ended up not giving a rats ass about CC for my first couple years, worked full time making decent money for a 16/17 year old kid ($12.50 an hour woohoo!), switched from computer science to business before ending up with political science, took tons of classes I didn’t need just to maintain full time status, then ended up with a bunch of Cs due to not caring and thus I had to take tons more classes and get As in order to get my GPA respectable again… and here I am!

Yes, that was one epic run-on sentence.

I think I am. Today is the last day with withdraw from two 8 week courses. I didn’t get into UCLA and I don’t want to move or commute to UCI or UCSD.

I’m probably going to drop two classes, that’ll leave me at 55 units…then I plan on taking the Anthropology pre-reqs and applying to UCLA Anthro next year =)

Epic is right. GL with UCSD!

Thanks man! I gotta get into UCSD first :stuck_out_tongue: Only in at UCI right now.

I’ve decided against it. The income I’d gain going to Cal next year vs. Davis this year is negligible if existent at all. Graduating a year earlier means I’m in the job market a year sooner and will have a year more of experience. In theory (and I hear practice), getting into a good grad school should be a little bit easier from Davis given that Cal’s EECS program is notoriously difficult, leading to lower GPA’s. (I’m not saying Davis is easy.)

I should clarify, if it isn’t clear: I’ve only considered staying another year in the case that I’m rejected from Cal.

yeah I’m staying an extra year. I’m not sure if I’ll be full time though. I am soooo over intro level classes.

I applied to Berkeley and Davis. I was a student at UCLA a few years ago, so if I don’t get into the schools I applied to, I’ll apply for readmission at UCLA.

If none of these options work out, I might stay an extra year at the most to finish my AA and reapply next year.

I was really considering it because I only have 1 pre reqs done for being a bio major… and its the first gen chem class. It seems like i am WAY off track! lol but, if I suck it up and attend ucsd I can get out sooner… =/

im really thinking about it, if i dont get into UC Berkeley.
