I am an international students in Shanghai, China, 11th grade. I am looking for my best fit university or college. I think liberal Arts college is a good choice for me. And I have learned lots of info about Wellesley College. I think it is a pretty good college. And I want to learn more about it, such as job opportunities, majors, admission standards. What kind of students do this college like to admit? (ps: I’m kind of interested in Economy, social science) Can anyone help me?
Wellesley is an excellent women’s college in an affluent Boston suburb. It is very competitive to get into - accepts about 1 in 5. It’s also very expensive. You would not be able to legally work on a student visa, unless the college were to award you work-study as part of a scholarship.
If you have reason to think you are academically prepared for admission to a school that falls among the most selective in the U.S., then, by all means, continue to consider Wellesley. For the study of economics, the school would be superb:
Wellesley has many famous graduates (you may have heard of Hillary Clinton!). It is an excellent college. You should Google the Common Data Set for Wellesley to get more info on the average test scores of applicants, percent of international students, # of students in different majors, etc. It is competitive for admission and also quite expensive. They are not need blind for international students, so if you aren’t able to pay, your odds of getting in are less (your stats would have to be very good in their applicant pool in that case). Someone interested in Econ and social justice would find many other students with the same interests there. They also have a strong alumni network.
Smart women.
If you like Wellesley, then you might also like other women’s colleges, such as:

Smith
Bryn Mawr
Mount Holyoke
Agnes Scott
Mills
(ordered, roughly, from more to less selective)
