Does anyone know how the UCLA waitlist process works for freshmen applicants?

So I got waitlisted  but I’m not sure what to think of it. Does everyone that got rejected get offered to be placed in the waitlist? If so I don’t think I’m going to bother, but if it’s selective I should give it a shot? (does anybody know how many of those offered a waitlist spot actually get in?) Any other advice would be great too, I’m having a rough time right now

Most of the rejections are not offered a place in the waitlist. This year, UC campuses are having much larger waitlists, especially for in-state students, due to undecided budget concerns, so previous years’ waitlist rates won’t be very indicative of how many will get accepted this year. It’s definitely a big accomplishment just to get waitlisted!

If part of you still wants to go to UCLA if given the chance, then accept your spot on the wait list. But at the same time, just move on and assume you won’t get off the wait list and choose another school. If you’re pulled off the wait list, then it’ll be a pleasant surprise, but if you don’t, then at least you’ve moved on and made another choice.
