I was just wondering if already having a CPA, CFP, etc, makes any significant difference for law school admissions? Anyone have a real handle on this?

And what exactly does a CPA + JD earn you job wise? I’m still unclear on how having both makes you so coveted. I ask because I am currently a happy accounting major who dreamed about going to Law school in my youth. My current path is to hopefully get a PhD in Accounting, but I am still weighing my options.

Having a CPA in the work force along with a law degree can be a great asset. First, it gives great credibility. Secondly, CPAs tend to have both good knowledge and/or experience with financial statements and greater familiarity with tax information, which is always a good thing for both law school and for many financial questions in life. My question, however, is whether the CPA significantly helps in law school admission?

Not significantly, no.

Definitely

All,

I am new on this board. I am interested in knowing if work experience (2-3 years) for a business UG student is important for getting into Law school. Would you please comment on the Pro and Con for applicants with or without work experiences?

Thanks

So I guess no one really knows?
