If you could share the cost of say Skull & Bones et al that would be great. Full cost of joining etc per year. Hopefully this question wont be met with resentment LOL.

Um, Skull and Bones isn't a private club you can join - it's a secret society. See here.

LOL, you can't sign up for S&B, they have to tap you. And they only tap 15 of the most influential people on campus a year, so chances are you either have to be from a well established family (US congressmen, governors, presidents), or you better be running Yale (pres student gov, editor in chief yale daily news, football team captain).

Ok so what does it cost once you are tapped? Somebody must know LOL

Why does it matter?

$200-300 for robes

$50/year membership dues

optional trip/dinner fees ~ $300/year

Thank you for your response!

hooded robes: $400
antique staff with jeweled head: $800
ridiculous public perception: priceless

***** sorry, I couldn't resist

Frankly the societies vary greatly. There's no set answer

Seriously, don't even think about it. The chances are very small that you get tapped for one, and if you are worried about money, I'm guessing that the secret societies probably aren't your thing. Worry about it then, if you do get tapped. And S&B and the other societies are no longer the selectors of the most influential on campus IMO, just the frat, varsity sports, and to some extent the acapella crowd.
