i just got an email to check my FA for the year 2010-2011

and got an aid totaling to up 52,600(efc 0) with loans around 7500/year.

I believe this is a really generous aid and definitely made me want to attend Rochester even more now but I couldnt find the exact COA anywhere,

can anyone provide a link or comment on this?

it’s actually posted on the FAOnline main page (under aid info ro 2010-2011):
Direct Costs:
Estimated tuition and fees:
$40,282
Estimated room:
7,050
Estimated board:
4,590
Total Direct Costs:
$51,922
Indirect Costs
Estimated Books, Supplies & Misc.
$2,808
TOTAL ESTIMATED COST OF ATTENDANCE:
$54,730

can you also post what you got specifically? i am interested to see how they covered so much for you.

I have a question. Do we actually pay the school the “Estimated books, supplies and personal expenses” or are they just there for our convenience?

They’re estimated so they’re just there for our convenience. Personally, if I attend, I am renting the books for a semester.

Oh so in the case of Rochester, seenabro got more than what he owes the college.

@ sharath: how can we rent books for a semester?

well my college friends use [Chegg.com: Cheap Textbook Rentals. Best way to Rent Books for College](http://www.chegg.com/), it’s a site that rents books for a very cheap price.

This cost of attendance is the same as all the private schools I’ve seen.
