Does anyone know when decisions are sent?

Also, I’m rooting for both of you guys (HeartLikeASocket & luluzg).

I have it on the wall of my room, i.e. next to my PC. I have 5 rubrics - College Name, How high is on my priority list, Decision Date, Decision, FA ($). I have the same list on the computer so after April 10 (my last decision’s coming out) I’ll print it out. I’m a psycho I know, but it’s my first and probably the last time I’m applying to colleges in the States.
I just found that the econ scholarship is a toss-up in my case - the wait is killing me. :@

I definitely agree! I’ve heard those stories and it’s kinda sad. I guess my rejection was a standard letter sent to all rejected candidates but there was a sentence that caught my attention ->

“While the Committee was impressed with your academic and extracurricular accomplishments, we have limited international student financial aid resources, and are not able to offer admission with financial aid to all deserving students.”

Good luck with Bryn Mawr, it’s an excellent school! I’m also getting my first decision on Wednesday morning from Wheaton in MA. Although Wheaton is my last choice, I’d be glad to get admitted with some nice FA coz it’d lift a huge burden off my back.

You found out that the scholarship is a toss up? How come? I really hope you get it, since if what you said about the 25K$ grant limit is true, I definitely won’t be able to attend and although I’m not sure about your situation, it seems like a really great opportunity that would really ease all FA worries.

Haha well that’s a pretty nice complimented for an incomplete app :D.

Thanks, I really fell in love with it after an awesome interview. And plus I have some friends there who worship it. Hope Wheaton works out! You’re getting a bunch of decisions on Friday too, right?

Thank you paranoidsenior :D.

[Financial Aid | International Students Financial Aid](Financial Aid for International Students) - take a look

I guess so. I know I’m getting Brandeis’, Union’s and Wheaton’s decisions pretty soon. Hamilton is coming on Friday (Saturday) and I guess Bard and CT College should come on Friday as well. And then in April I’ll get Bowdoin’s and Bates’ decision.

I’ve been waiting for this week for the past two years. Although I’m scared, I want it to be over so I can finally concentrate on school and the final exams. I’m daydreaming 24/7.

Bates really annoys me with their April 10th notification date for internationals.
But yeah, I know how you feel. I’m getting like 9 decisions this week haha and I just can’t wait 'til I no longer have to think about this kind of stuff. It doesn’t help that this week we also hand in all of our chemistry and biology labs ughhh.
I’m finally going to bed :D. Good luck with everything!

I got in Bryn Mawr with an amazing merit scholarship! Just have to see what the rest of my FA is like tomorrow.

That’s awesome! Congrats!!

OMG I got into Union as a Union Scholar :D

Yayy! Congrats!
And thanks :)

yay Luluzg!! Likely to be more good news to come, too!! congrats to HeartSocket, too!

Thnx!
Do you think Bard will send out decisions this Friday?

good luck, everyone! i was admitted early action, and they sent those decisions out well before they said that they would.

Tnx!

@Socket
Did you get sufficient FA from Bryn?

Will know in half an hour :D. I’ll post an update.
How about you? Do you know your whole Union package?

nop, i even didnk know i was accepted until i got an email that inviets me to open days, sth like that. im rooting for u, post an update when u find out

BMC gave me basically a full ride with a small loan :D. The words “parent contribution” were not on the page yay lol.

ODLIČNO!! I saw it on your FB and really, svaka čast!

Union gave me the Presidential Scholarship and some fin aid which is not even close to my need. I know I’m an international student and it’s difficult to get accepted with sufficient aid but if I was accepted as a scholar (and apparently around 50 out of 5000 applicants get the status, meaning 1ish %), why didn’t they offer me something closer to my EFC?! I emailed them and waiting for their reply but not expecting anything since almost the same thing happened with Mount Hoyloke. I guess we are richer than we think? :S :S :(

fingers crossed 10^6 times for Bard praying

Pravo mi je zao :(. Debili, their loss :).

Yeah, I find their logic really baffling. If they want to give you a scholarship, isn’t that some sort of indication that they really want you to matriculate? And if so, why can’t they give normal FA awards? I mean, fine, international FA is tricky, but if you don’t want to pay for the student, then just reject him/her. Like, what do they expect you to do, pawn your jewels and sell your house? And if not, why would they waste a scholarship like that? Just makes no sense to me, but luckily everything worked out fantastically with BMC.

Good luck for Bard! Even though it seems like they’ll accept me, it will be really hard for them to top BMC’s offer with a maximum grant of $25,500 lol, so I’ve kind of had to get over Bard unfortunately. sigh But yeah, I really hope they give you realistic and generous FA/the econ scholarship!

Tnx for kind wishes! :)

Yep, I am in the same position as you are for Bard. 25k is lot of money but when the school costs 55k, then it’s a different story. So the econ scholarship or nothing. Same here, either accept someone and meet their full need or jsut reject them - it’s less painful.

I contacted Union and their FA director was pretty nice so maybe things will work out. –>

I would be more than happy to re-review your financial aid eligibility based on the circumstances you listed below. To give you an idea of how the appeals process works, after my review I will submit the new information to the Appeal’s Committee. The committee is scheduled to meet on April 14th; they will make a final determination after which I will contact you via email. In the meantime, congratulations once again!

P.S. Guys, sorry for going off topic.

P.P.S. Can we expect decisions on Friday?

Wesleyan Class of 2014 <3
They gave me so much money ahh!
Was also accepted by Wellesley and Smith, waitlisted by Amherst and Middlebury, and rejected by Vassar. Waiting to hear from 9 others, but only the Ivies could (maybe) woo me now.
