It stands for nota bene, a Latin phrase. I don’t know hoe exactly translate it into English but it’s something like a good note or maybe even note well. It points your attention towards sth.

I applied for the econ scholarship and they told me I’m accepted as a Jerome Levy Economics Institute Scholar.

If you applied for fin aid, you should get it, as they said, in late March or early April.

haha I cannot believe in my question. I was trying so hard to find an abbreviation for that (that stands for a specific group of ppl accepted) that I forgot about ‘nota bene’. Guess its because other school was also ‘need-blind’ and did not offer me any financial aid… Thanks otherwise ;)

guys do any of you know how much does Bard offer as loan for the intl students? Since I got in as a Dist. Scientist Scholar, I got full tuition but the rest $13000 is still expensive in my case. I heard that its typical loan is of $5000 and work-study around $3000. If anyone got any idea about this thing, please do share!

I am an internatioanal applicant. Today is 31st and I still haven’t received that email from Bard. What should I do? Should I call them or something. Internationals, could you please tell when did you get your emails? Was it today?

I ,too, haven’t received a decision from Bard and I’m an international student. I have a feeling I haven’t been accepted :(. I don’t care, really.

All decisions are likely to be sent by April 1, so we still have another day. Don’t worry.

My counselor got an email from them saying they were seriously considering admitting me, and I haven’t gotten an email yet. I think only people who received special scholarships have been notified so far.

My counselor, too, sent them an email inquiring about the status of my application. The reply was a little cold, hence I’m not being too hopeful.

They actually emailed my counselor, not vice versa, and the email was pretty nice because it was from the guy who interviewed me.
The reply your counselor got was probably not any indication of acceptance/rejection, but rather a standardized message they send in response to all such inquiries. Good luck!

Haha yeah I missed interview deadlines for a few schools since I decided I’d apply to 15 (instead of 8) like two weeks before the end of December. But I got into Wes, so it’s all good :D. (Though I harassed them for an interview from the moment I submitted my pre-application in August. I sent like three emails and I submitted my real app in like October but they never responded. I then call Admissions and was like, “Um, ***?” and the woman was so apologetic and she put a note of my persistence on my app, but I never got one.)

And aw thanks, but Bard isn’t horribly stats-oriented, so don’t get too down on yourself!
