When the EA and RD deadlines were approaching, UChicago sent us emails with a list of humorous reasons we should apply on time. Does anyone have that email or remember parts of that list?

This e-mail is a friendly reminder that the University of Chicago’s Early Action application deadline is November 1st, 2010, just around the corner.

Our campus tour guides were reminiscing about their college applications and decided to create this “Top Ten List” to brighten your day and, perhaps, relieve some of the stress you’ve been feeling.

Top Ten Reasons You Should Turn In Your Early Action Application on (or before) Monday, November 1st

For Halloween, you can dress up as a kid who finished your college application!

You’ll automatically be entered in the running for Mayor of Chicago.

Getting into a college is, like, twice as good as getting into a collage.

A new video of babies eating lemons will show up on YouTube!

Your parents will stop bugging you about your application.

You are one step closer to winning a Nobel Prize! (…or, well, closer to people who have won the Nobel Prize!)

You won’t feel any guilt when you watch episodes of 30 Rock all afternoon.

You can spend the next month writing a novel instead of that application essay. It is National Novel Writing Month, after all.

That Hogwarts letter isn’t coming; this is the next best thing.

Procrastinating is only cool and fun once you’re in college.

If you’ve been stressed and worried about applying to college, finish up that application and worry no more! If you send us your application by November 1st, not only will you be able to enjoy the winter, you’ll also have your decision by mid-December, putting you way ahead of the game. So stop agonizing over whether or not you found x, no need to reread that essay for the quadzillionth time, and submit that application!

Best of luck!
