Does anyone understand this?

I was accepted to Berklee College of Music's Vocal Performance Program, but not for the fall semester. Easy enough to understand right?

but, the email goes on to say i would be entering in May 2007 (and i will have yet to graduate from High school at that point). Then, it says i should wait for more information about the summer 2008 semester.

then it says "See you this summer"

oy.

Call them. It sounds like they want you to start this summer, take the fall off, then continue your sequences (theory, etc.) in the spring next year. But there could be a big typo with the reference to May, 2007 and it meant May, 2008. Bummer. If you consider this (if that is what it is) check about staying on your parent's health plan for the fall if you are not in school in the fall. One would think they would propose such a schedule a bit more clearly! What are your other options? Good luck! Lorelei

I know of a student (2006 hs grad, instrumental performance) that went through something very similar. Not sure if he had to go for the summer, but he did not go to the fall semester, started the second semester. I did not understand it either, but it seems Berklee does that. Still....congrats on the acceptance!!

It is not unusual for Berklee students to leave school early for a job/gig of some sort. (There are jokes about diplomas being a sign of failure there.) If they were to only admit students in September, by the end of the school year they would not have the number of students they need to pay the bills. They try to balance out the load by starting a fair number of their students at times other than the fall semester. It does sound like they need to reword that letter to clarify the terms of acceptance.
