Does AP US History = US History SATII?

Yeah your friend is full of ****, there arent more then one map at best too, i would say MC is a bit harder then the AP if anything

The SAT II is much, much easier.

EDIT:

CollegeBoard Curves:

90-81: 800
80-79: 790
78-77: 780

what did you guys think of the apush test today--mutliple choice part, not essay?

oh, and how long is this SAT II? Also, is it just mutliple choice, or are there also essays?

90 questions in 60 minutes.

i actually thought the sat2 was harder than the ap test last year (i took apush on friday and the sat2 the next day). i think it seemed a bit more detailed than the ap mc section. but my scores were pretty similar (a 5 on the ap and 790 on the sat2).

Everyone says if you have APUS, you should be fine for the SAT, but the SATs are much more detailed than the APs. I'm pretty sure they ask more about specific books, people, etc, while the AP is more trends and connections.

Praise the lordah!

Anyone have the Biology curves?

OK....I studied for APUSH and and then I took the practice test from dummies....and it went DOWN....720 to 700...ugh.

Hey, does anybody know how accurate the Real Subjects USH test is?

So, now that you've taken both, what did you think?

I thought SAT II USH was much easier than AP USH, although they were both not THAT hard. I know I made many more mistakes on the AP than on the SAT II though. The only difference I noticed was that the SAT II contained more charts and data for you to infer information. Both contained political cartoons (SAT II a little more) and quotes. Furthermore, some questions (social dawinism, League of Nations cartoon) from the AP were recycled on the SAT II.

Ooo thanks. I'm taking them tomorrow and I didnt study at all today, so I'm hoping my AP prep will be enough.

If you prepped thoroughly, you will definitely be prepared. Just make sure you some of details (names of books + authors, places, events, etc) that characterize particularly eras.

yea i thought they were basically the same, except more charts on sat II. i agree with Julina that some of the questions seemed to be the same. probably because they are both put out by collegeboard.

Um...SAT II was way harder than AP.

I had 4 uncertain questions on the AP and 15 on the SAT II.

There were a few questions that were just pure Trivial Pursuit style questions...you either know it or you don't.

yeah i agree

I thought the SAT II tested my knowledge on US history a lot more than APUSH. I felt completely prepared for the SAT II. APUSH had RANDOM questions that I had never even heard of. There is a much more of a time crunch in SAT II because there are 90 questions in an hour.
So... I felt that SAT II easier but not because of the level of difficulty of the questions. The SAT II was just a much better test of US History.

just my 2 cents

I'm taking the SAT II in June.. I'd think that getting an 800 on the SAT II only correlates with how you would do on the multiple choice... not necessarily how you'd do on the essays.

I heard the SAT II asks more random facts while the AP asks more questions about historical trends.. people who took it yesterday at my school said the SAT II was a lot easier than the AP.

Actually, I found the AP to have more random facts than the SAT II. I thought both incorporated historical trends equally.
