I am applying to Penn State EA, and their website says you can submit the Schreyer’s application separately. The deadline for EA is 11/1 and coincidentally, the optional interview deadline for Schreyer’s is 11/1 as well. Does applying EA to Schreyer’s mean I get my Schreyer’s decision earlier, and have a better chance of getting in, or is it separate from the PSU EA (allowing me to put more effort in other EA apps) ? The website is very vague.
Totally separate.
PSU admissions will review your application for admission.
Schreyer admissions staff will review your application for Schreyer admissions.
Also understand that you will hear a PSU decision earlier. (12/24?) schreyer decisions are released early March as a batch.

Thanks! So, just to confirm, if I don’t care about the optional interview, it is safe to put off working on Schreyers essays until all my 11/1 EA ones are completed?

Our son was admitted to Shreyers. He missed the EA (didn’t get the SARS sent in time so was pushed to Regular decision). Got his Shreyer’s in right before its deadline.
