Does applying for the Honors Program at CSULB imply that I am accepting admission?

I just got accepted into CSULB (my first acceptance!) and received a follow-up email recommending that I apply for their honors program. However, since I haven’t gotten accepted into my top schools yet (which will start sending results mid-march), I don’t know if i’m going to commit to Long Beach, but I am still interested in doing the Honors Program if I do commit there. And their Honors Program application is due March 1, before I find out any other results. Can I still apply for the Honors without accepting admissions?

Yes.
I would encourage you to apply, even though you’re still waiting, as you still don’t know what your admission or financial offers may be. If you get honors, Long Beach may end being your first choice.
Remember that even if you are accepted into honors at LB, you do not have to commit
until the National Student Reply Day - May 1.

If you don’t mind me asking what was your GPA and ACT or SAT scores…my daughter had a 4.3 and 27 on ACT but did not get a letter suggesting she apply for honors? Thank you.

I got a 32 on ACT, and my weighted GPA is 4.51.
