Duke asked for additional documents to finalize my financial aid profile. Do they do this for every student who applied? That seems like a lot of work considering only 20%ish of them would actually be accepted and offered financial aid. Could being asked this be a sign that I might have gotten in, or am I just grasping for straws?
You’re grasping at straws. The FA office is totally separate from admissions. Read nothing into their request.
I haven’t read of anyone who applied for aid through collegeboard that wasn’t asked for additional documents. I don’t think it means anything.

I felt the same way and was taking it as a positive sign. I can’t imagine them going though the process of asking for further info for each applicant. If they need more info and it’s standard then why wouldn’t they ask for it up front??#thinkpositive
