Financial aid

I recently got contacted by Duke for missing FA documents. Is this a positive sign? I've seen past reports on CC that state that people got emails like this around this time and were admitted.

@boiledeggs: I believe this is neither a positive nor a negative indicator. The fact is Undergraduate Admissions and Duke’s Financial Assistance operation are ENTIRELY – and intensionally – separated. While some of the information both employ comes from a common database, NO consideration of potential financial grants/assistance is utilized in the acceptance decision. Therefore, I suggest that your FA file, and doubtless many others, is being reviewed to ensure an accurate assistance offer is available soon after admission . . . IF you are accepted.

Contact for missing documents can be positive but it also has a possibility of meaning nothing at all. A personalized email contact requesting for additional information can be a significant hint for admission but other than that it’s just half half I think.
