Hi, I'm new here and i would just like for someone to answer this simple question. I'm currently living In Texas but want and hopefully will be go to PSU's (Penn State) BS/MD program. I was just wondering if being out of state affects my chances. I know you need to be interviewed and i'd have no problem with flying there and flying back but I'm not sure if that hurts me in anyways. I'm currently a sophomore working my ass off to obtain my future. So, if anyone knows please feel free to answer

For the PSU program, probably not. Jefferson’s a private medical school and the program’s a really popular one that has a lot of OOS students.

Coldsoldier - it definitely does not. I know someone from Texas who is in that program right now. About half of the students are from out of state, granted most from NJ, NY and VA. But there are a few from IL, MI, OR, CA, LA, TX…Good luck.

Most people do not focus on just one program, they apply to many.
Some other combined bs/md programs give preference to in-state.
