Penn State-Jefferson Program

Did anyone who applied to this program get accepted to PSU yet? I applied in the first week of November and still have not heard back yet.

ive never even heard of it… what is it?

this program gives you acceptance to medical school as a high school student.

seriously no one applied???

I applied late November and my PennState status finally changed to (essentially) “We recieved everything and we are now reviewing your application”. I applied to a few others as well, and for most of them, I think the college accepts to the school normally and then tells you later if you got an interview for the BS/MD program.

thanks man. I’m just surprised that they haven’t made a decision for undergrad yet.

Who else applied?

I got an interview for the penn state-jefferson program, but didn’t get a decision for penn state undergrad yet.

Hi doctor2b,
I have my interview scheduled on Feb 10. When is yours?

Just wondering, but why would you want to get that guarantee? The med school you’re guaranteed to get into isn’t good whatsoever…

what are the pros/cons of the 6 year med program?? is it difficult to maintain the 3.5 average? is the work manageable?

I didn’t find it difficult to maintain program requirements, and if you come in with AP creds the program is much easier

do we need to apply to schreyer’s honors college for this program? or can i just not apply to schreyer’s honors college and still submit my penn state accelerated medical program application? will it look better if i apply to the schreyer’s honors college?

bump…10char

with med school tuition at $50,000 per year and oos college tuition over $30,000 who wouldn’t want 2 fewer years of paying tuition

The accelerated medical program and schreyer’s honors college are mutually exclusive. You can’t be in both.

Just to confirm, i DONT have to apply to both then? if so, i am only applying to the med program.

If you’re looking to Schreyer’s honor college as a backup plan in the event you are not accepted in to the accelerated medical program, then you need to apply seperately to Schreyer’s (by the end of November).

did anyone get an interview?

i did, scheduled for feb 8

Would you be so kind as to say whether the e-mail was from Penn state or from Jefferson?
