I’m a California high school student and have been taking community college courses in addition to (not in place of) my high school courses since ninth grade. I will have earned 31 credits, and possibly more, by the time I graduate at the end of this year. Would these credits go to waste at Brown? As I understand it, I would have about a year’s worth of college credit out of the way if I chose to go to UC system school.

If not Brown, are there any other ivies that accept community college credits?

also, the courses are not part of a dual-enrollment program. They’re classes I’ve taken after my full high school schedule. This semester I am taking one dual enrollment Statistics class though at a CC (I didn’t count that one though), so I guess it would be good to know if that transfers too.

Very unlikely. You need a specific number of Brown credits to graduate, and you would not be able to transfer all of them. However, the open curriculum makes it easier to transfer some things, like advanced language courses, for example. I went to Brown many, many years ago, but even then, AP credits and other courses were not worth much. This is true of most competitive schools. They do need to make money, after all. I’d call and talk with someone about what exactly would transfer, if that is a concern. Often, though, it is department specific.
