Wondering bc it makes a big difference for me. I move from a 3.60 UW GPA to a 3.71
Ive read they dont and ive read they do i just wanna know which is the truth
They do.
They do not look at Freshman year grades.
OP, where have you read that CMU does or does not take high school freshman year into consideration? On CC? On their website? Please consider the source. When my S applied the ad mit people made this very clear- CMU does not consider freshman year; they calculate GPA without it. My D has considered applying and again, we heard the same from them. It doesn’t mean they are not going to look at it. It means that they recalculate without it. Also, I understood from them that an upward trend was good. My S did not do well freshman year in high school and I think that their approach helped him get in. He also applied ED. He is in CFA- ID.
