That's my question.
I was taking a practice sat essay in english class today and I always dot my i's with hearts, but my teacher told me it wasn't proper writing and thus I must rid myself of this habit before collegeboard sees it. However, it makes me sad because it's very "me" and it's what defines my handwriting =(. I make hearts faster than I can make simple dots on the i's.

Right on with your bad self! Also, put little smiley-faces at the end of all your sentences, like this :)

As long as it's legible I can't imagine it being a huge problem, as long as you don't get a grader who has something against it.

yeah, i dont think it matters.

iiiiii don't think they're fond of heartsss.... you may lose respect with the hoary old professor who will be grading your essay.

i haen't seen a heart-ed 'i' in a long time.

yeah, me neither. not since i read the babysitters club books.

it's cute, though, lol... that a 17/18/16 yr old does that. i find it amusing/comical/eccentric almost.

seriously...

If I were a grader with such an essay, i would be amused.

This amused me. hahahah

There's nothing to gain but obviously something to lose..

i think i might love you

I agree with pugfug..... you shouldn't take a chance. Some readers may not take you seriously. You're better off to bite the bullet and leave out the hearts for your essay, sorry.

I think it's adorable, but probably not very formal and proper.

Well are you talking about huge hearts, because sometimes a heart on top of an I can look like a regular dot.

IDK

Similar question, I write in all CAPS is that a problem? I have done this since 8th grade and I can't write legibly or quickly in regular case.

^That should be fine.

thats a very manly way to write OPx2. it proves our genders laziness :p :
"Wait I have to memorize FIFTY-SIX different shapes to write? screw that...just show me one"

as for making hearts faster than dots, i dont believe you. a dot is a dot. hell, half the time i dont even dot my i's and i always double cross two t's in a row. but i think CB could care less. i did write "i <3 SATs" in the bottom right of my essay b/c CB is a narcissistic establishment and i wanted a 12. it worked btw...3 point increase with no test prep

Heh... that's funny. I always write math jokes on my math exams =)
My teacher gets a kick out of it though... I hope...

The trick is to make the hearts look like they're really quadrilaterals or hexagons.

GIMEurSTRESballZ, it does because I draw the heart really fast first and I automatically draw the line part straight down. I could probably change it to a circle though, but I'm really used to making some sort of loopy thing as my dot so it's really hard to change my habit... And yeah, my hearts are tiny.
