Does Columbia University School of General Studies accept traditional transfer students?

I keep finding that Columbia GS takes non-traditional students. I'm currently enrolled in a community college and got an email advertising about Columbia GS. I went to community college straight out of high school and I have not taken any breaks in my academic career to mark myself as a 'non traditional student'. I also plan to be full-time.

So do they accept applications from transfer students? Or do I MUST have had a break in my academic career??

please help!

No. As far as I know, it says you MUST have a gap of more than one year.

@meidea,

My name is Christina and I’m a current student and tour guide and GS. To be eligible for admission at the School of General Studies, you must have had at least a one-year break in your education (in which case you may attend on a part- or full-time basis), or you must have a compelling reason for why you are only able to attend classes part time.

For more information about the School of General Studies, visit this website: <a href=“Statistics and Facts | School of General Studies”>https://gs.columbia.edu/program-overview

You could also consider applying to Columbia College, the traditional undergraduate school, as a transfer student. Just keep in mind that doing so will render you ineligible for admission to GS for three years.
