Does Cornell even look at your resume?

I mean, I have some truly outstanding achievements, but I can't fit in in the Common App.
Now since so many people are applying, my question is this....
Do they even look at your resume?

might depend on the major.

Pol.Sci.
Really really many leadership roles, mostly student government.

leadership in student government is indeed a truly outstanding achievement. Surely this unique credential will awe the masses. Make sure the entire resume is in bold

Be careful… people on this forum take sarcasm literally.

?
What do you mean, purifythecolors?

Purifythecolors is saying you were arrogant to call participating in student government an amazing accomplishment. A lot of people have done the same thing.

Don’t send anything that can be found in other parts of your application, but if you feel that there’re more to your activities than can be adequately explained on the common app, feel free to elaborate in the “additional information” section. You can attach a short word document file there if you so wish. That’s what I did last year for my application, and it worked out fine. Keep the additional information/ resume short though.

Thanks Calico!

^you’re welcome =).

No, I was talking about gomestar’s sarcasm.

I always thought student gov’t was a big load of bull because it is at my school. Then I saw Frontrunners. Damn, that stuff is legit at some bigger schools. Anyway, I know ILR specifically requests a resume. It’s definitely a good thing, but make sure it’s actually a resume. You’re in high school, you haven’t done that much. It doesn’t need to be more than a single page, one side.

a good resume really shouldn’t be. The recruiters at my company really scoff at any multi page monstrosities that they come across … a resume should be one page, one side, no more. Included are the most important activities, excluded is the crap like “spooned bowls of soup this one Saturday afternoon”
