Does Cornell require a counselor letter of rec?

like, on the website, it says 2 teacher recommendation letters. no where does it state that we also need a counselor letter of rec, which would make it 3.

also, my two teachers are from psychology and us history. is this a big deal? i didn't notice anything on the website specifying that it needs to be math or science

You need a counselor rec.

Recs can be from any teacher, but if you’re applying for something Math/Science related, it would help to have a rec from a math/science teacher.

ok i see, too late for me though. and besides, i hated my math teacher. i do regret not asking my bio teacher though =/ i’m applying to bio sciences btw (or rather have applied)

do you mean a counselor letter of recommendation? i know that my counselor has to fill out forms for me and she can “recommend” me there i think, but does cornell require an actual LETTER, because it only said 2 letters from teachers.

On the “school forms” section of the common app. the counselor’s rec. is seperate from the teachers rec. Your counselor is going to have to complete this and it will go to all your common app. schools.

Don’t worry about it. Recs are more about your general work ethic and participation than your proficiency in any particular subject.
