i just happened to check my application status today and i now have a link to the 2014 page and i am certain that it was never there before. I was also able to login to the class of 2014 page and I received an email about financial aid a few days ago… is it possible that more likely letters are coming soon? I really don’t know what to think about all of this…

The majority of the class will not receive a likely letter as the school only sends out ~500. Remember they admit over 2000 students in hopes of having a freshman class of ~1095 students.

I know that it seems like an eternity to wait another 2 weeks, but you will definitely know one way or another. Regardless of whether or not you are admitted to dartmouth, I have every confidence that you will be attending somewhere great and you will have a great time in college.

senioritis, when my S was admitted we received an inquiry for further information from the FA people about 2 weeks before The Date. I remember asking Sybbie if it was a good sign. I hope it’s a good sign for you.

senioritis123, those were the things I noticed shortly before I received my likely letter, so it certainly could be a good sign.

don’t they send out that FA email to everyone? i got the email, but i’m not getting a likely at this point, and i assumed it was just a generic email to all applicants.

I meant that being able to log in to the class of 2014 page was possibly a sign of acceptance.

i was referring to Consolation’s post about the email. sorry, should’ve clarified…

It’s fine. Is Dartmouth your top choice Tres Elefantes?

not exactly, but it’s one of them. what about you?

Same with me (it’s one of them). Harvard and Stanford are probably my top choices but I would definitely consider Dartmouth over them since I was so happy with their likely letter What about you? What are your other top choices?

got into yale EA, and i lurve it, but i need to compare FA. so whichever school offers me a great package at this point also applied to brown, princeton, harvard, and hoping for merit aid elsewhere.

^Where did you apply that has merit aid? I only applied to two places with it, but I’ve gotten some from one of them.

Just got my letter today!!! It was dated March 12th. I knew today or tomorrow would be the last possible days, so I am so excited. Ah wow!!!

Got mine too anomaly today dated the 12th… So happy!!!

ugh, I want one. I love how I don’t get one from Dartmouth, right now my number one choice, but I’ve gotten likely letters from Duke, Cornell, and Penn haha.

Lightzout,

I know how you feel. My D got likelies from Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, and Cornell but is also waiting to hear from Duke. She likes all of them for different reasons so will have some difficult choices. FA may be the “tie breaker”.

But, many have not received likelies at all so count your blessings! Good luck!

Did everyone who had that link on their admissions status page get a likely letter? I guess so, right. I don’t have one, bummer haha.

^ Yeah, that’s the first thing I did today after hearing that people got the last batch of likelies. Guess I won’t be getting one, though I never really expected to ha

@yodastreet: how do you know its the last batch? Could DM still send another wave next week?

A news article somewhere stated that Dartmouth traditionally sends three batches. One in mid-February, another in late Feb/early March, and the last in mid-March. It’s somewhere in these forums too…
